Sleeping less lead to weight gain
We need more than five hours of sleep every night if less than that which is not good for our health. Researchers at the Colorado University in the United States found that lack of sleep may lead to weight gain.
To keep awake, you need energy and to get the energy you need food. I tried. When I stay late watching TV or finish my job, I usually end up eat something.
It is true that our body burns more calories to keep awake. The study found that those who stay awake burn 5 per cent more calories than those who slept early. You will not be able to stay awake without energy, you need to eat continue to provide the body's energy to to keep you going, but what happens is we usually end up eating more that what we need to replace.
The study found that those who keep awake burned 5% more calories but they also added 6% more calories to replace what the body burned. While those who slept early did not add any extra calories because they were sleeping.
In another study, researchers found that having too much belly fat will affect your sleep, there is a connection between having difficulty to sleep and your body fat specially in midsection of the body. Reducing the size of your waist will help you sleep better if you are fat or obese.
